Through sculpture and research-driven practice, Cristin Millett investigates the cultural histories and future imaginaries of the body, with a focus on emerging reproductive technologies and medical systems.
Artist Jazzmen Lee-Johnson will lead a conversational walkthrough exploring how she challenges historical narratives and the status quo through sampling, remixing and hip-hop praxis. Her interdisciplinary practice spans printmaking, music, research and film.

Lecture will provide personal narratives on how community connects creatives, and creatives connect communities. Artists are (by nature) reliant on community. Nate’s story pulls at these threads, exposing the gaps and showing how artists and communities are trying to fill them.
The Eco-poetry of a Borderlands Narrative: Reconsidering the Harrisons’ Lagoon Cycle
Summary: This talk, taking from Sheren’s forthcoming book "Whose Crisis? Visual Narratives in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands", 1985-2025, proposes an alternative reading of The Lagoon Cycle through the lens of borders and migration.

This talk pulls at one thread of Chicana art to consider archives that hide in plain sight and how those archives situate Kira Dominguez Hultgren’s making practice through the lens of the U.S. Arts and Craft movement and Latinx art. The research for this talk was funded by a Center for Craft, Craft Research Fund Project Grant.

The event offers audiences an opportunity to experience live music in a community setting while supporting student performance, collaboration and engagement beyond the concert hall.
